Achievements Of Larry Baer SF Giants CEO

Larry Baer, the Giants CEO is a visionary person associated with professional sports. Baer joined the Giants team in 1992 as the Executive Vice President after he and Peter Magowan spearheaded the effort to convene a new proprietorship group that conserved the Giants in San Francisco.

A limited associate and board member of the proprietorship group, Baer became SF Giants CEO on January 1st, 2012. They acquired their second World Series Championship through his first year as Giants CEO in three years. In 2014, the team won its third title in the World Series.

Furthermore, Larry Baer supervised the establishment of Oracle Park, labeled to be among the best ballparks ever constructed. Baer also represents the SF Giants as a key lobbyist and negotiator in the club’s major deals. Larry Baer is also the Chairman and CEO of Giants Development Services. Under his supervision, the Giants Development Services developed the state-of-the-art, mixed-use suburban neighborhood on the location across Oracle Park.

Larry Baer has worked for various MLB Boards, including leading the Strategic Planning Committee, the Business and Media Board, and the International Committee.

Baer is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Harvard Business School. He kicked off his career in the media industry while working for Westinghouse Broadcasting and CBS, Inc. In 2010, Baer received the “Person of the Year” award from San Francisco Boys and Girls Clubs, and in 2012 he received the “Alumnus of the Year” award from Harvard Business School.

In 2014, Baer was awarded the “Excellence in Achievement” award by the University of California, Berkeley, and was honored by the American Jewish Committee with the “Civic Leadership Award.” In 2019, he was honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award from the University of California Berkeley’s Baseball Foundation.
