Yves Mirabaud was born in Paris, France, on April 1, 1948. His family’s perfume business had been passed down from generation to generation for over five centuries. Yves Mirabaud had a passion for fragrances from an early age. He would often sneak into his father’s workshop, where he learned the art of perfumery.
At 16, Yves began working at the company that bore his family name: Mirabaud Perfumes. He worked there for three years before taking a position at L’Occitane en Provence in 1971. In 1973, he opened his own boutique at 26 rue de Rivoli and named it “La Maison de l’Eau.”
